SUMMARY:Care Circle
DESCRIPTION:Care Circle is a recurring\, facilitated space to practice asking for—and offering—support in community. Through simple\, structured rounds of giving and receiving\, we explore tenderness\, agency\, and attuned connection. \nEach gathering begins with a gentle warm-up to ground in the body\, build trust\, and clarify needs and desires. We then break into small groups (3–5 people) for timed “centered” rounds. When you are centered\, you name the support you’d like to receive—this might include listening\, reflection\, words of affirmation\, song\, touch\, or another consensual form of care. Group members consent to or negotiate the request based on their capacity. \nRounds are timed (typically 5–8 minutes)\, followed by brief integration before rotating roles. Each participant will be centered at least twice. We close as a full group to reflect\, integrate\, and prepare to transition out of the space. \nThis is a practice space for both leading and following—for generosity\, vulnerability\, and presence. \nGuiding principles \n\nCircles of care and attunement\nCuriosity and experimentation\nA “yes\, and” generosity mindset\n\nAll are welcome\, no experience necessary. \nCare Circle is a drop-in event\, recurring monthly on 3rd Wednesdays. \nThis is for you if… \n\nYou want to practice asking clearly for what you need—and hearing a genuine yes or no.\nYou feel nourished by offering presence\, care\, and support to others.\nYou’re curious about touch and connection rooted in consent\, agency\, and awareness.\nYou long for community spaces that are tender\, grounded\, and emotionally literate.\nYou want to strengthen your capacity to give and receive without obligation or performance.\n\n

SUMMARY:Sadhana of Mahamudra Group Practice
DESCRIPTION:“This is the darkest hour of the dark ages. Disease\, famine and warfare are raging like the fierce north wind. The jewel-like teaching of insight is fading day by day. To enable individuals to ask for the help and to renew spiritual strength\, I have written this sadhana of the embodiment of all the siddhas.” \nThus begins The Sadhana of Mahamudra\, a powerful practice written by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1968. This sadhana is an extraordinary poetic practice text that contains vivid descriptions of the obstacles presented by physical\, psychological\, and spiritual materialism in the modern age\, and prescribes unwavering devotion to wakefulness as the antidote to such harmful actions and outlook. By reading this text aloud together in contemplation\, we collectively rouse our energy and strengthen our resolve toward awakening. \nNewcomers to the practice are warmly invited to attend. The practice will be explained beforehand\, then led by Lynn Newdome\, who met Chogyam Trungpa in 1974 at age 19\, and has been practicing buddhadharma ever since. \nThe Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center will host this practice on the New  Moon of each month\, beginning April 17\, 2026. Check for all New Moon dates. \n  \nSchedule: \n6:45 pm – Arrive\n7:00 pm – Explanation of practice/practice begins\n8:20 pm – Approx. end of practice. May stay for further discussion.

SUMMARY:5Rhythms Dance
DESCRIPTION:The 5Rhythms comprise a simple movement practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body\, no matter what its shape\, size\, age\, limitations and experience. The 5Rhythms dance practice was founded by Gabrielle Roth; an urban shaman. The practice itself is simple\, there are no steps to follow. The teaching is deep. And it comes from the dancer’s wisdom and embodied insight. In each dance\, we explore each of the 5 rhythms\, not for its mastery\, but for its medicine. We will co-create a space to experience the rhythms of flowing\, staccato\, chaos\, lyrical and stillness (also known as a 5Rhythms Wave). \nEach class will focus on one of the 5 rhythms and at the same time move through all of the 5 rhythms. Expect to have time to settle in\, and move on your own\, while also being gently guided by music; verbal prompts or invitations. Dancers may be invited to deepen their inner dance\, or prompted to dance in partnership – brief or extended – or to move as part of a larger group. Each class is emergent. The rhythms themselves are gateways to literally thousands of different movement landscapes. Like the body\, they are alive and designed to catalyze the dancer’s movement expression in the moment. You are different every time you walk into the dance space; so is the group and so is your teacher. Therefore\, each class holds completely unique possibilities. \nhosted by Jilsarah Moscowitz
